Hello!

Marketing a building and its spaces is so much different than marketing my art.  How does a person write an “About Me” post for a inanimate object?

The Cooley Memorial Hospital was built in 1935 and was quite literally built by the residents of Brigham City.  Dr. Arthur D. Cooley asked patients with outstanding medical bills to pay off their bills by donating their labor to build the hospital.  When I’m in the hospital I see chiseled pieces of cement and I can just imagine Brigham City residents hammering away at 8 inches of concrete so a local electrician can run a light switch into a bathroom.  There are so many places in the building that bring so many images like this to my mind.

Dr. Cooley dedicated the hospital to his young son Russell who passed away due to illness.  As I researched the history of this building, I came across a sentence that echoed how I feel as we’ve been renovating the top floor of this building.  Dr. Cooley’s widow said about the construction of the 50 bed, 3 story hospital “It was a big undertaking for one person to do, but he was always happy he was able to do it for Brigham City (which) he loved very much, as we all did and do.”

His words are exactly how I feel about our renovations.  It is a big undertaking for one person to do, but I feel so strongly that it is important we bring life back into this old hospital for this community that we have grown to love.  I hope the work we are putting into the renovations will do justice to the memories of the Cooley Family.  This is why we chose to name the new studio “Cooley Collective Studios”.  We hope you love it as much as we do.

Who are the faces behind this renovation?!

My amazing, hard working husband Thomas has put more labor into this building than anybody else combined!  His support of my wild and crazy dreams is never ending.  He quite literally is my rock and my my safe place when life throws loop holes our way.

I also couldn’t do this without the help and support of my 5 amazing kids!  They have spent many hours at the studio. Even my little 8 year old Max can swing a hammer and bust into a wall! (My amazing son Marshall is even helping me with this website and definitely did not write this!)

I am a 42 year old mom in love with running, and geocaching and my family!  From the moment I stepped foot inside the Cooley Memorial Hospital, I knew I needed this building in my life!

So what is Cooley Collective Studios?  Cooley Collective is a 3,000 square foot space boasting 3 beautiful natural light studio rooms each with a different feel.  From white and bright to industrial and moody there is a space for every photographer.

Inside this collective space we also have 5 office spaces.  4 of which we lease out with a 6 month lease.  One office is rented at an hourly rate.  To see our rates and pictures of each room click here!

Our shooting spaces are designed to also host workshops, classes, craft nights, family parties, luncheons, business meetings and conferences!  Click here to see our rates and pictures for our large spaces!

I invite you to watch us grow. Hopefully we can make an impact on this amazing community we love.
